It’s another packed issue, and there’s no let-up in the rockin’ output on ‘record’ or on stage. It’s interesting to read artists from other genres complaining about the pittance they are paid for the playing of their recorded output on streaming platforms such as Spotify, and rock’n’rollers seem to be at an advantage both from the artiste side, who generate important revenue from CD/vinyl (and let’s not forget T-Shirt) sales, and from the fan side, going home from a gig or finding in the post something to actually hold onto. It seems vinyl has made a comeback in many genres; maybe CDs will do so, too, but I think it’s fair to say that the rockin’ community seem to have got this particular aspect right. Don’t fix what ain’t broken!
